WHO WE are
Teens Resist is a website and resource center dedicated to making political activism easier for teens in a time when youth involvement is imperative. The news these days seems to move at the speed of light, each day bringing new legislation, proposals and outrage. It’s understandable that attempting to become politically involved is a looming expectation for a teenager. With the endless flow of news, opportunities and demands, the specificities of political activism are hard to understand. Enter Teens Resist.
Teens Resist aims to create a space where teenage activists can become politically involved in simple ways. We provide resources like scripts, phone numbers and news briefings so that we can be a one-stop destination for activism resources for teens.
Although most teens can’t vote, and political discussions are dominated by adults, the choices made now will shape the society we grow up into. Throughout history, youth have championed moments of uprising. It’s so important for teens to be involved right now, even in the smallest of ways. We hope to make that a little easier.

FAQ
Components
- The Must-Have List: A permanent, all-uses list of helpful sites, scripts and numbers for any teen activist (or activist of any age) to get involved in whatever way they'd like to.
- Basics: All the basic info to know about calling your reps and what TR is all about.
- Biweekly Lists: Every other week, we'll post a list of significant news happenings, our analysis, and what you can do to take action on that particular issue. You can also subscribe via email to these updates at the bottom of this page.
- Instagram: We'll often post when significant things happen in the news cycle with immediate reactions and responses that you can access yourself.
- Features: Every so often, when something uniquely important happens that we believe needs more than a section in a list, you'll see a "feature" posted that provides extensive info on and actions to take surrounding that topic. For example, we've done features on gun control, net neutrality, DACA, and Black History Month Action, among others.
- Index By Issue: An alphabetical list of every issue that we have covered in the past. Each issue is accompanied by a bulleted list of every time it has been discussed in the past, including where (with a link) and what the specific subtopic was (for example, "Harvey Weinstein exposed" might go under the issue "Abuse and Assault").
How our Process Works:
We believe that all political and social justice organizing should foster community! In that spirit, we also believe in transparency in organizing. This is how Teens Resist works:
All of our staff is teens. We have a staff of writers who have applied and been accepted. Any student from 8th-12th grade can apply, and writers who wrote in 12th grade have the option of staying as writers one year post high school. Our writers come from different states around the country. Lists are written in sections with each section written by a different writer. Writers sign up for these topics every two weeks.
If you would like to apply to write, please feel free to do so using our Get Involved page. If you have a topic that you'd like us to cover, DM us on Instagram @teensresist or email us using our Contact page.
